How to limit/compress PDF file size while affixing the Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)

  • One of the pre-requisite for filing of various eForms is that the total size of the file to be uploaded along with the attachments should not exceed certain limited (for example, there is limit of 6 MB for MCA related filings).
  • However, the size of the eForm increases significantly after attaching the DSC. What should be done to optimize the PDF file size?
  • Solution: Please follow the below instructions to limit the increase in PDF file size while affixing the Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)
  • Step-1: Use only “Adobe Acrobat Reader DC”.You can download the same at this link:https://get.adobe.com/reader/
  • Step-2:Open any PDF file. Select Edit > Preferences (at the end of menu list).
  • Step-3: Select “Signature” from the left side menu list (as highlighted in the table below)
  • The Digital Signatures section is displayed side-by.

  • Step-4:Click “More” button under the “Creation & Appearance” section. The screen will look like as below:
  • Step-5: Uncheck “Include signature’s revocation status” option as highlighted in Red Box above
  • Step-6: Press Ok, again next screen Ok.
  • That’s All
